A CASE STUDY ON CHONGZUO CITY: INTERNAL TOURISTS’S FEATURES AND RECOGNITION IN FRONTIER AREAS

This paper, based on a case study of Chongzuo city, Guangxi, applies a statistical analysis to discuss the tourists’ demographic features, tourism features, satisfaction, attitudes and recognition in frontier areas via questionnaires, with the results indicating that tourists are most interested and impressed in frontier tourism products, such as Detian trans-national waterfall and Friendship pass. The frontier tourism products shall display resource features, and the frontier as well. The general satisfaction degree of tourists has a close relation to the tourism industry; however, Chongzuo city is not outstanding by its resort advantages, and laggard in its tourism shopping and catering.

This paper gives an introduction to the tourism in Dongjiang lake resort, makes a survey on residents' perceptions in lives quality, psychological status and environmental quality, and their attitude towards tourism development, with the results indicating that the tourism in Dongjiang lake resort is still in the developing stage, and that the residents in local community have a positive recognition to tourism more than negative, displaying a support to develop the tourism. This paper presents a suggestion enhancing communication with residents, establishing community involvement, regulating the tourists' behaviors to make sure a sustainable development.
